YCEL Culminating Activity

On March 23, 2024, The Youth Civic Engagement Lab (YCEL) micro-grant project concluded with a celebratory event dedicated to honoring the remarkable accomplishments and unwavering dedication of its youth participants for the betterment of their communities. The highlight of the event was the showcase of video presentations, with each of the 15 project proponents sharing the impact and journey of their civic engagement projects. From advocating for environmental sustainability to promoting social justice, the videos beautifully captured the passion and commitment of these young change-makers.

The event also featured a brief talk by the PCC chairperson, Lota Bertulfo, Ms. Myca Magnolia M. Fischer, Deputy Head of Mission, Philippine Embassy in Ottawa as well as Eddie Villarta, PCC Co-vice Chairperson commending the participants for their outstanding efforts and emphasizing the importance of youth involvement in community development. A lively question and answer session allowed attendees to engage directly with the project proponents, gaining deeper insights into their initiatives and experiences.
