Mary Ann Barros was born and raised in Quezon City, Philippines, and has proudly called Canada home for many years. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from the University of Santo Tomas and a Master's Degree in Applied Business Economics from the University of Asia and the Pacific. She currently works as a Financial Management Advisor with the Government of Canada, bringing over 30 years of experience in finance, treasury, and public service.

A firm believer in giving back, Mary Ann is actively involved in the community through her church, volunteering at the Ottawa Food Bank, supporting local seniors' initiatives (OVFCSCA), and serving on the Board of Directors of the Philippine Centre Canada. She is passionate about building connections, supporting newcomers and families, and helping strengthen the Filipino-Canadian community through service, compassion, and leadership.
